About the Certificate in Holistic Telehealth Counselling

Since Covid, online therapy has become a very popular modality, due to clients being unable to attend sessions in-person. Clients and counsellors now have the flexibility to offer their services to a wider audience, people they would not have been able to reach in-person previously (due to location barriers). This means that counsellors can now work with people from different States and across the globe!

The Certificate in Holistic Telehealth Counselling prepares students to offer safe and effective telehealth holistic counselling sessions for clients. The course prepares students to offer telephone and online counselling therapy for clients who are unable or unwilling to attend in person for various reasons. These reasons may include family or work commitments, disability or mental health issues, location, lack of transport or isolation. Telehealth counsellors need special skills to ensure the client experiences are as close as possible, to the safe and nurturing environment the counsellor would provide in a face-to-face consultation.

What student support is provided?

• Each student is assigned a dedicated trainer on enrolment.
• Students are in regular contact with their trainer as part of the assessment process.
• Students are required to submit regular answers to questions, which their trainer reads and provides feedback on.
• Trainers are also available for questions and queries via email between 9am-5pm Mon-Fri Melbourne/Sydney time.
